National Rail Enquiries "National Rail Enquiries (NRE) offers timetable services through a number of channels including call centre, web and mobile text. The web channel is of increasing importance and NRE has recently undertaken a strategic initiative to remove its reliance upon third parties for this channel and to develop its own web platform. The new platform is scaleable and high-performance and will allow NRE to be flexible and innovative in its future service provision as well as relieving traffic from call centres. "The development and hosting of the new platform was outsourced to an experienced Systems Integrator (SI) and Oak Management Services was engaged to manage the initial project and put in place the necessary disciplines to control the project for the longer term. "Oak hit the ground running, forging strong relationships with the team and internal and external suppliers. They consolidated everyone’s plans into a single delivery plan then drove the joint team to deliver against the plan and the various contracts. "The project was delivered on time and has achieved our goals including significant uplift in the web channel.
